Winter Market: How it works
During the winter market, we have developed a system in which customers pre-order certain items early in the week so that we have the whole week to plan our harvest. Winter harvest takes longer, and we have less quantity in general, so it’s important that we be able to control how much we harvest, and when. We send out an email reminder early in the week, letting everyone know when ordering will be open, and the earlier you place your order, the more access you have to veggies that are in limited quantities.
To receive the email reminder, join our email list. Click on “Email List” on the right sidebar, and follow the instructions.
To order, go to “Winter Market Reservations” on the side bar, and click on the items you want, indicating the quantity you want. If you don’t see this link, then ordering is closed. Once you have filled your shopping cart, click on “Check Out”, and fill out the information form. You will be sent a confirmation email immediately regarding your order. If you do not get an email confirmation within 12 hours of placing your order, then your order was not processed, and you should place a new order. If possible, print out a copy of your order and bring it to the pick up.
Then, you show up on Saturday between 9-11am at Lincoln Square Village . We are located in the little eating area inside the mall behind the co-op. More specifically, you can walk through the back door of the co-op to find us, or enter the mall through the doors facing south, on the eastern end. You must show up between 9-11 to pay and pick up your produce.
When you get there, the process is a bit do-it-yourself. If you have forgotten what you ordered, you can check one of the lists on one of the clipboards on the tables. Then you bag up your order. We don’t pre-bag anything, so you can use one of the scales to get your weights close to what you ordered. Then you bring your produce to one of us, and we’ll weigh it and price it, and cross your name off of our list of customers, so that we know you picked up your order.
